myra & marty
We’re Myra and Marty Rademacher - a husband-and-wife team passionate about great food, genuine hospitality, and the Jacksonville community we’re proud to call home.
As a Jacksonville native and lifelong entrepreneur, I (Myra) have always felt a deep connection to this town. Marty, a veteran and Recon Marine, shares that same commitment to service and people. When we found this historic building downtown, we knew it was the perfect place to bring our vision to life.
The name “1940” honors the year our building was constructed, but it also kept showing up in our lives in the most unexpected ways - from a lock code at home to the address of the first bar we opened together, The Backyard Tavern. To us, these were all signs that Bistro 1940 was meant to be.
